Recently, the story about a student from Chinesetown was on the newspaper. The American student Philip and his wife, a Hangzhounese, want to donate books to Chinese children. Philip has learnt some Chinese before he came to Hangzhou and he started his mandarin course in Chinesetown last year. With the help of his teacher, his Chinese improved a lot and he also had a further understanding of China by reading some books about Chinese culture. After more than half a year’s study, he could talk with his Chinese colleagues in Chinese fluently now.

Philip is working and learning mandarin in Hangzhou , in the meantime, he wants to help more Chinese students to acquire extra-curricular knowledge. That’s why he gave birth to the idea of donating books.
